Secret Agent Man
(theme song)
it's simple: you're fliyng down the ski slopes being chased by a bad guy. you've got to get away, your life is on the line. you hit a jump and out of nowhere a helocopter arrives, swoopes down and you grab on to a rope. away you go...

Hawaiian Sunset

imagine yourself on a beach watching the sun set. now imagine yourself in Hawaii doing that, a drink in one hand.

The Avalanche

things are going bad, really really bad. so bad that everything is dark and cold. you can't remember when things were going well and you can't think of a way out. and it's really dark - and you just want everything to stop.

I Go Crazy

you can't sop thinking about her. you just want to scream - in a good way. she makes you smile, she makes you laugh. you leave to go out and you just want to turn around and go back.

Imagine That [video]

you're grumpy! ok, so that last relationship didn't work out. in fact it ended so badly the police were called in. but come on, wake up! the sun came up this morning and today is the day you meet her - or him. those are your only two choices regardless of what the former senator from pennsylvania once said. he's an idiot, your not. imagie that...

New York (on a Sunday afternoon) [listen]

another one that was called "untitled". when I was between 8 and 12 years old my family lived in East Brunswick, NJ. one set of grandparents lived in Queens. on many Sundays we would drive into the city and visit. On the way home, going down 2nd Avenue, we would pass an ice cream parlor that I think was called "The Flick". they showed silent movies and served ice cream. I would always plead with my parents to stop, and every once in a while we did. for some reason, that's what I thought of when I played this song - driving down 2nd Avenue on a Sunday evening. the sound in the backgroud of the piece is an ebow going through a harmonizor. all the other stringed instruments are stick and warr guitar.

I Spy

you're in the Great Barrier Reef. you're floating in the clear blue water (yes, i know, it can't be clear and blue - but just go along with the metaphor). there is life all around you, turtles, fish, colours everywhere.

2nd Ave, 62nd St. [video]

my high school friend Joe Ruiz wrote the lyrics to this song. We were in a band together and Joe couldn't come up with any music he liked for these lyrics. i really loked the lyrics and gave it a shot. it was originally written on acoustic guitar. When I wrote an arrangement for stick/warr, the song become more subdued and better matches the lyrics.

Life Comes Rolling In (with the fog)

you're standing at the embarcadero in san francisco. the fog is litterally rolling in as you stand there. you sometimes you feel like that's what life is like. waves of fog rolling over you, surrounding you, confusing you. but the fog does clear - eventually.

Sibella [video]

her smile grabs you right away. the quiet way she moves, those blue eyes and that sultry southern accent. or something like that.

Fire

my co-producer and long time friend paul e. mitchell calls this bachelor pad music. it's part of a trio of instrumentals written for this cd. Hawaiian Sunset was (at one time) called water. Sibella was called air.
